Gilles Wullus - Têtu - La campagne des antis mariage pour tous est une menace générale sur la famille moderne

Après la mobilisation réussie du week-end du 16 décembre pour le mariage pour tous et l'égalité des droits, Gilles Wullus, directeur de la rédaction du magazine LGBT Têtu, présente sa vision de la mobilisation en faveur du mariage pour tous.

Benjamin - Quel est votre ressenti sur l'aspect politique de la marche du 16 décembre?

Gilles Wullus - Par son ampleur, cette manifestation a montré qu'en dépit du fait que seule une minorité de Français sont concernés (les homos sont et resteront une minorité!), le mot d'ordre a massivement rassemblé. Si certains homos pouvaient, jusqu'à récemment, être indifférents à la revendication du mariage, le déferlement d'homophobie depuis deux mois a contribué à les réunir autour de ce projet de loi. Autre aspect intéressant, la manifestation comptait de nombreux hétéros, qui prennent eux aussi conscience que la campagne des antis est une menace générale sur la famille moderne.

Benjamin - Est-ce que vous pensez que le côté politique est en train de prendre le pas sur le côté festif?

Gilles Wullus - Dans ce débat sur le mariage, il n'y a jamais eu de côté "festif"! C'est une revendication très sérieuse, qui est née dès après le vote du pacs il y a plus de dix ans. Si la question fait référence aux gay prides, c'est une façon très caricaturale de résumer ces marches des fiertés. Elles sont, en effet, souvent l'occasion de revendiquer son identité homo avec fierté et en s'amusant, mais elles ont toujours été des moments de revendications politiques intenses (à Paris comme en régions), que ce soit quand la droite gouvernait ou même quand la gauche est revenue au pouvoir, comme en 2012. Enfin, il y a bien longtemps que les gay prides n'ont plus rien de commercial. Les établissements capables ou désireux de payer un char se réduisent comme peau de chagrin.

Benjamin - Quelle image souhaitez-vous donner pour la marche du 27 janvier?

Gilles Wullus - Je ne suis pas organisateur, mais je pense que la marche du 27 janvier doit être à l'image de celle du 16 décembre: digne, intelligente, pacifique, fière.

After the successful march of last week-end for marriage for all and equality of rights, Gilles Wullus, chief editor of the French LGBT magazine Têtu, presents his opinion about the mobilisation of the 16th December.

Benjamin - What is your feeling about the political side of the march of the 16th December?

Gilles Wullus - With such a lot of participants, the march showed that the purpose did mobilize the citizens, despite the fact that only a minority of French were aimed (the LGBT community is and will remain a minority!). If some gays have been till recently indifferent toward marriage for all, all the homophobic actions in the last two months contributed to unite everybody in favor of the law. Another interesting fact is that the march gathered many straight participants, which were also aware of the campaign against the law is a general threat over modern families.

Benjamin - Do you think the political aspect is overtaking the party aspect of the march?

Gilles Wullus - In the debate about marriage, we never had a "party aspect"! This is a very serious claim which started after the vote on the PACS 10 years ago. If this question refers to the gay pride, this is a very caricatural way to describe these marches. They are indeed a way to claim our gay identity and have fun, but they also have been very strong and intense political moments (in Paris and in the regions) either when the conservatives were at the governement or the socialists, like in 2012. To finish, for already some years the gay prides have nothing commercial, there are always less business capable of or willing to pay for a truck.

Benjamin - What is the image you would like the march of the 27th Jannuary to be?

Gilles Wullus - I am not the organiser, but I think the march of the 27th Jannuary will be like the one of the 16 December: Dignified, inteligent, peacefull and proud.
