Benjamin – Peux tu te présenter en quelques mots ?
Can you present yourself in a few words?

Thomas - Bien, mon nom est Thomas, j’ai 23 ans et je suis Suisse, j’habite là ou je suis né. C’est une des raisons pourquoi j’aime voyager, j’ai envie de quitter ma région et découvrir d’autres villes, pays et cultures. Je veux voir l’Europe et le monde au maximum ! La vie est trop courte pour rester seulement à son boulot de 9h à 17h !

Well, my name is Thomas, I'm 23 years old, Swiss and still live where I was born. That's also one of the main reason why I love travelling so much - I wanna leave my place and the surroundings I'm used to to dive in other cities, countries and cultures. I wanna see as much as possible from Europe and the entire world! Life's too short for hanging around in a 9 to 5 job!

Benjamin – Comment as tu entendu parler de l’Europride ?
How did you heard about Europride?

Thomas - N’est-ce pas un événement connu ? ;) Il a été annoncé l’année dernière que cela se déroulera à Rome mais ce fut une décision spontanée d’y aller.

Isn't it quite famous?! ;) It was pronounced last year that it'll take place in Roma but still it was a pretty spontaneous decision for me to go there.

Benjamin – Quelles sont tes motivations pour participer à cet événement ?
What are your motivations for joining this event?

Thomas - Au début je voulais y aller avec un ami, mais il a refusé, alors j’ai décidé d’y aller tout seul et rencontrer des gens du monde entier. Lorsque je rencontre un gars qui est motivé pour y aller, rien ne peux m’empêcher de le rejoindre ;)

First, I wanted to go with a friend of mine but he had to refuse so I was considering going alone to meet new people all over the world. When I met a guy who's up to go there for sure there was nothing that could hold me back to join ;)

Benjamin – Quelles sont tes attentes ? Tes craintes si tu en as ?
What are your expectations? Your fears if you have any?

Thomas – Mes attentes sont que cela va être un événement énorme et coloré et tout le monde sera heureux de faire parti d’une grande communauté et nous pourrons montrer au monde que nous avons les mêmes droits et peut importe qui nous sommes et d’où nous venons, nous sommes tous des êtres humains, alors pourquoi se faire la guerre et s’entretuer pour rien ?? La diversité est un des trésors de ce monde et nous devons tous être fiers d’être unique et spécial à notre façon ! C’est le message à faire passer et c’est bien au passage de faire la fête avec des amis et sa famille.

Ma crainte est de ne pas avoir le temps de visiter Rome ;)

My expectations are that it's gonna be a huge and colourful event and everyone is enjoying to be part of a bigger commune and that we can show the world that also we have rights and it's no matter of who you are or where you come from we all are human beings so why should we persecute or even murder each other for nothing?! Diversity is a treasure to the world and we all should be proud to be unique and special in our own way! That should be the message and it's fine if we're having fun with our friends and families celebrating it!

My fears are that I can't combine it with a exploration tour through Rome the next day due to hangover... ;)

Benjamin – Peux tu nous dire quelques mots sur le Couchsurfing et ce que cela a apporté à ta vie ?
Can you say a few words about what mean Couchsurfing for you and what it brings to your life?

Thomas – Couchsurfing est honnêtement l’une des plus belles inventions. Cela a complètement changé ma façon de voyager et même de vivre. Ca rapproche des gens qui peuvent être complètement différent du point de vue de la région, culture, origine, ethnicité, vision du monde, etc. Mais cela vous rapproche de ces gens et vous avez une différente vision de la façon dont le monde fonctionne… C’est un petit pas vers la paix dans ce monde en désordre !

Couchsurfing is honestly one of the best invention. It's been totally changing my way to travel and to live as well. It brings people together who might be completely different concerning religion, culture, origin, ethnicity, view on the life and so on but it connects you to those people and you got a different view of how the world goes on... it's a little step towards peace on this messy planet!
