Épousez un Polonais / Get married with a Pole

La Pologne n’est pas connue pour être le pays le plus « gay-friendly » d’Europe…

Cependant, une bonne nouvelle vient d’arriver pour la communauté LGBT polonaise !

En effet, les polonais vivant à l’étranger seront bientôt autorisés à se marier/pacser dans leur pays de résidence ! Jusqu’à présent les polonais devaient inscrire le nom de l’épouse dans leur certificat de mariage et l’administration polonaise pouvait refuser ce mariage s’il s’agissait d’un couple homo. Les autorités polonaises ont décidé de supprimer cette obligation d’indiquer le nom de l’épouse, ouvrant ainsi la voie pour reconnaître les mariages / pacs des polonais à l’étranger.

Bon, c’est loin d’être une révolution. Mais c’est toujours un petit pas dans la bonne direction.

Alors amis européens, vous pourrez très bientôt épouser les polonais. Heureux, non ?

However, we just had good news for the Polish LGBT community!

Indeed, Poles living abroad will soon have the right to get married in their host country! Until now, Poles had to write the spouse name in the marriage certificate and the Polish administration could reject it if it was a same-sex wedding. Polish authorities decided to withdraw the obligation to write the spouse name, opening the path to recognition of same-sex unions for Poles living abroad.

Sure, it is no revolution. Nevertheless, it is a small step in the right direction.

Dear European friends, you will soon be able to get married with Poles. Wonderful, isn’t?

Wszyscy wiemy, że Polska nie należy do krajów najbardziej tolerancyjnych w Europie.

Jednak mamy dobre wiadomości dla Polskiego stowarzyszenia LGBT!

W rzeczy samej, Polacy mieszkający za granicą, będą mieli prawo do zawierania związków małżeńskich w goszczącym ich kraju. Do tej pory Polacy musieli wpisać nazwisko małżonka do aktu małżeństwa i do polskiej administracji która może go odrzucić, jeśli to był ślub tej samej płci. Polskie władze podjęły decyzję o wycofaniu wpisywania nazwiska małżonka, otwierając tym samym drogę do uznania związku tej samej płci dla Polaków mieszkających za granicą.

Oczywiście nie jest to rewolucją. Niemniej jednak, jest to mały krok we właściwym kierunku.
