It is not unusual to sing the national Anthems during national days, specialy in embassies.
But on the last 14th July in the French embassy in Greece, the French and Greek Anthems were not sung by no one, but by the famous Sakis Rouvas! Below the video of Sakis Rouvas singing the Marseille Song and the Libery Anthem.
La Marseillaise / Η Μασσαλιώτιδα / The Marseille Song(Hymne National français - French National Anthem)
Let's go, children of the Fatherland,
The day of glory has arrived! Against us, tyranny Has raised the bloodied banner, (repeat) Do you hear, in the countryside, The howling of those ferocious soldiers? They are coming right into your arms To slit the throats of your sons and consorts! To arms, citizens, Form your battalions, Let's march, let's march! That impure blood May water our furrows! |
Ύμνος εις την Ελευθερίαν / Hymne à la liberté / Hymn to Liberty (Hymne National grec - Greek National Anthem)
I recognize you by the blade,
the awesome, of the sword, I recognize you from the gleam which with haste surveys the earth. From the bones arisen, of the Hellenes, the sacred and, like first again you stand brave hail, o hail, Liberty! |
